North Star Interfaith Peace Walk Slated for September 21st

The second annual North Star Interfaith Peace Walk will be held on International Peace Day, Sunday, September 21st at 2:00 P.M. The 1.2 mile walk will commence at the Masjid As-Salaam at 276 Central Avenue, Albany, NY and will end at the Sister Maureen Joyce Center (soup kitchen) at 369 Livingston Avenue, Albany, NY. The purpose of the walk is to use the positive energy in our country among religious and secular groups to transform our communities and to allow people to provide witness to reaffirming the common roots of our different religious and cultural traditions. During the course of the walk, community leaders will offer interfaith prayers, readings and songs to promote learning from one another in fellowship.

This will be a multi-generational, non-political and inclusive event. Group/congregational banners and non-political signs of peace are welcome (Peace is the Answer, Give Peace a Chance, Peace for All). The event is free of charge and white clothing is the suggested attire. Water bottles are recommended.
